Trans fats and fertility

Saturated fats
Less research exists specifically on saturated fat and female fertility, but the evidence is clearer on the male side: higher saturated fat intake is linked to lower sperm quality. It's easy to forget fertility isn't just about eggs and the uterus -- sperm quality matters just as much, and low quality makes conceiving harder too. Saturated fat, found mostly in meat and animal fats, adds to the case (alongside the separate finding that red meat can lower female fertility) for swapping in plant-based meals a few nights a week.
The bottom line on bad fats
Cut trans fats out entirely where you can, and reduce saturated fat where practical. And pair that with adding more Omega-3 -- especially the long-chain forms (EPA, DHA, DPA) found in fish -- since that's the fat that actually works in your favor.
